Fluorite

Fluorite, from which we get the word fluorescent, crosses an entire spectrum of color, from deep purple to crimson red, paraiba blue to emerald green (i.e. Chrome Fluorite) and frosty orange to lemon yellow. Fluorite is one of the more famous fluorescent minerals. Many specimens strongly fluoresce, in a great variation of color.

Fluorite can be found in transparent to translucent clarity and although it was rare to see faceted gemstones there has been a move in recent years to see this magnificent gemstone placed in pendants  and other fine jewellery. With its relatively low hardness it always important to have it mounted in jewellery that will not be subject to rough handling.

Color Change Fluorite is mined in Bihar, India and shows a dramatic change from green to purple. color change gems are those that distinctly change their color when viewed under two different light sources

According to crystal healers, Fluorite is a third-eye gem bringing rationality to intuitive qualities.
